Old Orland Historic District Capital Improvements

As Orland Park's oldest neighborhood and the historic heart of the Village, it is important for Old Orland to maintain its old fashioned feel. The village has completed multiple phases of streetscaping throughout Old Orland to maintain the character, which included brick pavers, tree plantings and grates, benches, trash receptacles, new curbing and sidewalks, street furniture, sod, and handicapped accessibility improvements.

Through State grants, the village has installed decorative old fashioned street lamps throughout Old Orland, which match the lighting in the Main Street Area and Orland Crossing. “Old Orland is a destination of choice in the south suburbs. The old fashioned street lights add to the character of the area,” said State Representative Kevin McCarthy (D-37).
